Discord’s brand new feature – App Directory, officially launched in late October 2022!
This feature allows Discord server administrators to search for various Discord bots directly through the built-in App Directory without leaving the Discord application. They can also invite the bots directly to their servers without having to search for their ideal Discord bots in the vast sea of the internet. This article will introduce how to use the App Directory feature.
How to Open App Directory
This feature is only available to those who have “administrator” permission for a Discord server. If you cannot see this option, it means you do not have administrator permission for that server.
First, click on the server name in the upper left corner of the Discord interface. Then, you can see the “App Directory” option in the pop-up menu.

App Directory Main Screen Navigation
According to Discord’s official statement, App Directory is maintained by the Discord developer community, so it will be constantly updated to include more bots. This also means that not all bots can be found.
Once you enter the App Directory, you can see the main screen as shown in the following image:

App Directory Review
After more than 7 years of operation, Discord has finally started to develop features similar to an app store page. For users, in addition to having an extra layer of filtering mechanisms, there is no need to search for bots on external third-party Discord bot aggregation websites.
