Discord is a free community communication software designed for communities. Users can create or join servers that interest them, where each server can be understood as a “club” or “community.” Members of the community can interact and communicate within the server. This article will explain how to add and create a brand new Discord server.
How to add and create a server?
Step 1: Find the + sign at the bottom of the server list on the left side of Discord.
Find the + sign at the bottom
If you have joined too many Discord servers, the + sign will be pushed to the bottom. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the list to find it.
Step 2: Create a server
In this step, if you choose “Create My Own,” a brand new blank server will be opened. If you choose the option “Start from a template” below, a brand new server will be created based on the template provided by Discord according to the selected theme.

Step 3: Tell us more about your server
Next, the system will ask you to describe the purpose of the server. It’s okay to skip this step, but if you choose to do so, Discord will provide relevant setup guidelines for different needs.

Step 4: Customize your server
In this step, you can set the server’s thumbnail and name. If you can’t think of the most suitable ones for the moment, it’s okay because you can modify them anytime later without any limits on the number of modifications.

Step 5: Completing the Server Creation
After completing the above steps, you have created a brand new Discord server. However, this is only the first step in creating a server. The real challenge on the journey to building your own server is how to set up channels, roles, permissions, and applications.
