Step 1: Invite MEE6 to your Discord server

First, go to the MEE6 website and invite the bot to your server. The invitation process for all bots is the same, but remember that your Discord account needs to have the “Manage Server” or “Administrator” permission for the server in order to invite the bot. Otherwise, you won’t be able to send an invitation.

Additionally, before inviting the bot, you need to log in to your Discord account. If you’re not logged in, the system will redirect you to the Discord login interface.

Step 2: Enable Twitter Alerts plugin

After successfully inviting the MEE6 bot to your server, go to the MEE6 website backend and enable the “Twitter Alerts” plugin. If you want to disable this plugin later, you can use the same method to turn off Twitter Alerts.

Before enabling, a confirmation window will appear. Click “Activate Twitter Alerts” to enable this plugin.

Step 3: Configure Twitter Alerts plugin

Next, you will enter the Twitter Alerts settings page. Click “New Twitter account” to set up a new Twitter account to track.

In the Twitter account tracking menu, there are 3 options that need to be set:

Option 1 – Twitter Alerts (Account): Please enter the Twitter account you want to receive notifications from in this space. The system will display search results, and you need to select the account that the system suggests to complete the setup.

Option 2 – Message (Customized message): Set the text message to be included in the post notification. You can also specify the roles to be mentioned (add @ before the message) and the channels to be tagged (add # before the message).

Option 3 – Post in channel: Choose which Discord channel you want to see these latest post notifications in. If you created a new Discord channel while having the Mee6 web backend open, remember to press F5 to refresh the page or wait a few minutes before trying again. This way, the newly created Discord channel will appear as an option.

If you need to modify the settings for a Twitter account that has already been set up, simply click on the respective Twitter account. To delete the settings for a specific Twitter account, click on the three dots on the right side.
